66 work-day over 6 month period from 25 November 2019 to 19 April 2020.
15 work-days spent in Georgia.
51 work-days at home office.
The scope of work will include the following specific tasks, but not limited to:
(i) Provide high level technical inputs into the design of the project;
(ii) Review road and structural designs prepared by the executing and/or implementing agency and
(iii) Assist the Project team in reviewing procurement documentation for civil works.
The project road covers around 12 kilometres (km) of the highway from the international border at Sarpi to the southern terminus of the Batumi bypass (under construction). The existing Batumi-Sarpi road, which is about 11 km, is a winding coastal road with limited capacity and currently comprised of mixed local and transit traffic. The arrival area at Sarpi border is currently highly congested with several road safety concerns.
Reflecting the challenging terrain through which the project road passes, it includes a tunnel of at least 5 km and a number of bridges/viaducts. The project scope will also include improvements to traffic management at Sarpi arrival area and preparation of the scope for a highway rest area/logistics facility, possibly to be developed under private sector finance.
Postgraduate degree in transport economics, engineering, transport planning, or a related field.
Preferably 15 years of high-level experience in transport sector infrastructure development, management and operations.
Working experience development agency guidelines and procedures.
Experience of working in institutional environments similar to those prevailing in Georgia.
Georgia experience, specifically on highways would be an advantage.
