4 February 2010. Vol 2, Issue 1.

Dear Readers,

You have to have a little sympathy for Britain’s Network Rail. So far this year they have had to contend with weeks of weather woes and now they have to spend millions of pounds on new cabling because it appears that cables have become a food of choice for rats and mice! Last month a peckish rodent chewed through a one-inch high voltage cable which caused a breakdown on the West Coast Mainline, resulting in 99 trains delays and 20 cancellations.

Network Rail have embarked on a two year program to strengthen the railway’s rodent defence system by laying armoured steel replacement cables. Maybe some cats would be a cheaper option!

Bangladesh is home to our two Jobs of the Week. Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer and an experienced Cost Estimator. Both are 3 month contract positions.
