Dear Readers,
The Vietnam Railway Summit will take place from 25th to 26th September 2024 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Vietnam’s government has unveiled a comprehensive action plan to steer the development of the country’s railway transport system, setting ambitious goals and clear directives to modernize and expand the network. The government will focus on developing the railway infrastructure and investment in new important routes. The project's total investment fetches $61.02 billion, of which state capital accounts for 80 per cent, and equity capital about 20 per cent. The government would also develop a new highspeed railway on the North-South and East West corridor. The Government is willing to commit over US$70 billion investment to a high-speed railway system that will span the entire country.
The Vietnam Railway Summit 2024 will bring together around 200 C-Level executives from Government Authorities, practitioners, and all railway stakeholders from Vietnam and beyond to discuss the urban and high-speed railway development in Vietnam and across the ASEAN region, the potential of railway investment, railway asset maintenance and management and O&M case studies best practices.
